Hakone, April 7-8, 2001

(organised by Masako Okamoto)

photos by Björn and Nicolas

Masako and Chisa in front of Fuji-san. Can you see Fuji-san?

Steaming vents in Hakone are emitting H
2S, which is not only more toxic than cyanic acid (HCN, look at the dead trees around the vent) but also makes eggs turn black.

Arguably one of the most ugly cable car stations in Japan. The sign in front of it reads "Save the Green".

Les and Chisa.

Masako hiding in the bamboo grass.

Group picture on the first day. From the right: Paul, Björn, Masako, Les, Chisa, Bas, Stephan, Nicolas. Niklas (note the difference in spelling) is missing. It was his last weekend in Japan and being from Sweden he spent an apparantly rather wild Friday night in Tokyo and wasn't too fit on Saturday.
